Plan your day up to six months ahead

Most park days get planned long before Disney publishes the details. Park hours appear a couple of months ahead, attraction schedules and showtimes a few weeks or sometimes just days ahead, and the seasonal calendar of festivals, holiday shows and party nights arrives in pieces. With this update Magic Carpet estimates park and attraction schedules that Disney hasn’t yet published so you can plan any day up to 180 days out.

Estimated hours and seasonal attractions

For dates beyond the published window, Magic Carpet estimates the park hours, the attraction hours and the showtimes. This estimation is based on past data and what Disney has said about upcoming parties, special events, seasonal attractions, new attractions, and refurbishments. We continue to revise estimates as more information becomes available.

You’ll know when it’s an estimate

When you pick a park for a date beyond the published window, the hours on the park cards carry a small note: Hours shown are estimates. Tap Learn more and it explains what that means and what happens next.

The Which park step of the planning wizard for Wednesday, November 25, with the four park cards showing hours and a line beneath reading Hours shown are estimates, Learn more
Far-out dates say so, right under the hours.

We’ll let you know if anything changes

Plan as far ahead as you like, because Magic Carpet keeps checking your saved day against Disney’s schedule as it’s published and revised. If the park now closes earlier or opens later, an attraction’s operating time shifted, a showtime you picked no longer exists, or an attraction won’t be operating that day, a notice appears at the top of your schedule.

The schedule screen with a notice card at the top reading Park and attraction hours have changed since you planned, so your day needs an update, with View details and Re-optimize buttons
One tap to see what changed, one tap to rebuild your day around it.

Tap View details for the full list of what changed and what no longer fits. Tap Re-optimize and your day is rebuilt around the new hours. If you had picked particular showtimes for a parade or show and those times moved, the rebuilt day uses the closest of the showings you would have chosen. If an attraction turns out to be closed on your day, the same button takes it out of your plan and tells you that’s happening, so nothing in your day depends on a ride that won’t run.

Magic Carpet is still in beta: if you plan a far-out day and something about the estimates or the notices could be better, tell me through the beta feedback form.
